The El Camino Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-31 loss at the hands of Rancho Buena Vista. El Camino was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.
Alana Hoskins and Aleigha Tatum certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hoskins scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Tatum scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Hoskins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Kylie Salzler continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rancho Buena Vista, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Salzler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camille Dake, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Camino will take on Mission Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Canyon Crest Academy at 5:30 p.m.
