There's no place like home for the Owen Warhorses, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Avery County on Friday and snuck past 75-72. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Owen has posted since January 12th.
Leading Owen to victory were Eli Lewkowicz and Asante Martin. Lewkowicz scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Martin scored 30 points along with seven assists. Martin is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Daxon Mason, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Owen's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Avery County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Owen will head out on the road to take on Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owen has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 895 points over their last 13 games. As for Avery County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mitchell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
