Rio Vista is 9-1 against the Spartans since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Rio Vista Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the San Juan Spartans at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Rio Vista's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.
Even though Rio Vista has not done well against the Scots recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rio Vista enjoyed a cozy 38-24 victory over the Scots.
Rio Vista found their leader in underclassman Samiah Holley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals. Holley hasn't dropped below eight steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Guadalupe Valdenegro, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 12 steals.
Meanwhile, San Juan was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 36-35 to the Grizzlies.
Rio Vista is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for San Juan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Rio Vista against the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 52-20 win. Will Rio Vista repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
