Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sonora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Savanna a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won five in a row.
Not much got past Robby Blaine, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Savanna off the board. Blaine also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sonora is 7-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Luke Crowder and Anthony Abad did most of the damage at the plate: Crowder got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Abad went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Woodrow Wilson's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Bruins have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sonora, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Woodrow Wilson continue to outrun the ball?
Woodrow Wilson was able to grind out a solid victory over Sonora in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 6-3. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
