The Marshall Eagles are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Glendora Tartans at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Marshall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Glendora is ranked 55th).
Last Friday, Marshall was fully in charge, breezing past Edgewood 62-25 on the road.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maryn Goodwin, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Degooyer, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Glendora entered their tilt with Rancho Cucamonga with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Glendora skirted past Rancho Cucamonga 53-51. The score was all tied up 30-30 at the break, but Glendora was the better team in the second half.
Rylie Anderson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addison Martin, who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Marshall to 4-2 and Edgewood to 2-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Marshall have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Glendora struggles in that department as they've been even better at 35.7 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
