The Scotland Fighting Scots suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Richmond, falling 84-51. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Scotland in their matchups with Richmond: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Scotland saw an underclassman step up: Shyland Harrell scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Dylan Lampley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Jamarion Wall, who went 11 for 20 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 2 assists for Richmond. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was JV Drake, who scored nine points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Scotland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Richmond, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
Scotland will be playing at home against Hoke County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hoke County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Scotland in North Carolina (Hoke County is ranked 175th, while Scotland is ranked 381st). As for Richmond, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern Lee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
