Baseball Recap: John Milledge Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southland Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask John Milledge Academy). They never let the Southland Academy Raiders get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Kolt McMichael was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

McMichael wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Paradise, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Paradise a new career-high.

John Milledge Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Southland Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Coming up, John Milledge Academy will face off against Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southland Academy, they will take on Frederica Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Frederica Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Southland Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
