Battle Mountain will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Aspen on Thursday. The Huskies blew past the Skiers 30-4. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Skiers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Battle Mountain got a massive performance out of Hallie Holleman, who went 2-for-6 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Holleman has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Perla Chavez, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Battle Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aspen only managed nine.
Meanwhile, Centaurus got the win against Loveland on Friday by a conclusive 11-4. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.
Nora Midness made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Midness was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Emery Fannin was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Kaitlyn Long was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Centaurus' win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Battle Mountain, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 8-10.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Battle Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .533. However, it's not like Centaurus struggles in that department as they've averaged .528. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
