Although nearly 100 high school girls basketball players scored over 50 points in a game during the 2023-24 season, the two most memorable performances came in the same game on Feb. 9 in Minnesota.
Grace Heins led
Ogilvie to an 89-82 win over
Pine City with 62 points, including nine 3-pointers. The 5-foot-6 guard came out of the game with a 29.9 scoring average and became just the fourth player in Minnesota history to score 60 or more points in a single game.
And she wasn't even the leading scorer in the game.
That's because
Karly Jusczak of Pine City tossed in 63 points. Headed to Idaho, Jusczak's total ranks No. 2 all-time in state history while Heins's total ranks fourth. The two are also believed to be the only girls basketball opponents to each score over 60 points in a game.
Iyanna Wade Wade of
Clairton (Pa.) had the most 50-point games during the season with five, including a high of 65.
Saniya Burks of
Rice tied the Texas state record with 75 points (also held by Clarissa Davis of Jay and Adrian McGowan of Goodrich). Her 75-point outing was also the highest single game total for the year.
Eryn Brown of
Istrouma (Baton Rouge) broke the Louisiana state record with a 64-point outing in January. Meanwhile
Lauren Reardon of
Grand Forks Central set the North Dakota state record with 61 points in February.

Regarded as the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2025, Aaliyah Chavez of Texas authored five 50-point games during the 2023-24 season. (Photo: Matt Smith)
