The Pacific Bay Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 76-24 loss at the hands of Summit Shasta. Pacific Bay Christian has struggled against the Black Bears recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Pacific Bay Christian had strong showings from Terra Pandolfi, who scored 11 points, and Shahana Andrews, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrews has scored all season.
Summit Shasta was led to victory by Niesha Ramirez and Alexis Cornejo. Ramirez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Cornejo scored 23 points along with eight steals. Cornejo has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Yelena Reyes, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Pacific Bay Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9. As for Summit Shasta, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Pacific Bay Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Summit Shasta, they will head out on the road to challenge the Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aptos is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
