The North Valley Christian Academy Lions on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Lincoln Prep Lightning at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mayer typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday North Valley Christian Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Wildcats, posting a 62-28 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win North Valley Christian Academy has posted since December 8, 2023.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Prep came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Phoenix Day School for the Deaf 59-6 at home. Given Lincoln Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Phoenix Day School for the Deaf is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-11 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Lincoln Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
North Valley Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 43-13 loss at the hands of Lincoln Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Valley Christian Academy was down 33-11.
