There's no place like home for the Valley Christian Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 win over Leland on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Valley Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Valley Christian found their leader in underclassman Mia Kagita, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Kagita hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenedi Nomura, who scored 12 points along with 8 assists and 4 steals.
Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Leland, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
The Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Leland, they will be playing at home against Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
