El Segundo is 9-1 against North since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Saxons at 3:15 p.m. The last three games El Segundo has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
El Segundo took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Wiseburn- Da Vinci. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Declan McRoberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, North made easy work of New Roads on Wednesday and carried off a 12-3 victory.
North also got a great performance from Mason Matsumoto as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Sei Nagashima was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Josiah Reed was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
North now has a winning record of 6-5. As for El Segundo, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything went El Segundo's way against North in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as El Segundo made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saxons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
