The El Diamante Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 74-48 margin over Redwood. This was payback for El Diamante, who suffered a 48-41 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Neveah Creason was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. Rian Jones-dillihunt was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
El Diamante is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Redwood, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-8.
El Diamante will face off against Monache at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monache presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Diamante in California (Monache is ranked 51st, while El Diamante is ranked 414th). As for Redwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Porterville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Porterville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Wednesday.
