The Praise Academy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lafayette Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Praise Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They really took it to Victory Baptist for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-0 win on the road. Given Praise Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Victory Baptist is ranked 30th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kendall Davis was on fire: he rushed for 277 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 23 yards and a touchdown. Davis' longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Young Americans Christian 56-16 at home.
Praise Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.5 points per game. Lafayette Christian has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matchups, giving them a 6-1 record.
Praise Academy strolled past Lafayette Christian in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 by a score of 55-40. Will Praise Academy repeat their success, or does Lafayette Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
