The Franklin Learning Center Bobcats can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Sayre with a sharp 43-21 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin Learning Center also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Leading Franklin Learning Center to victory were Janai Richardson and Makiya Brunson. Richardson scored 15 points, while Brunson scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameira Thomas, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, Sayre still got an impressive performance from Mischa Ferguson-Bell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Brionn Veal-Coston, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Franklin Learning Center's win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. As for Sayre, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Franklin Learning Center will head out on the road to face off against Strawberry Mansion at 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Strawberry Mansion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Franklin Learning Center is ranked 170th). As for Sayre, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mastery Charter Hardy Williams at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Mastery Charter Hardy Williams comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
