Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Wednesday.
Mount Miguel suffered their biggest loss since November 22, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Helix on the road and fell 76-28. Mount Miguel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
Despite the defeat, Mount Miguel saw an underclassman step up: Jaylene Hughes scored 26 points. That was a full 92.9% of Mount Miguel's points, marking the 21st time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Liberty Charter was beaten by The Cambridge School 48-19 on Tuesday.
Mount Miguel has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Liberty Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
