The Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Trinity Prep Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Rio Lindo Adventist: 29.2, Trinity Prep: 20.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
Last Thursday, Rio Lindo Adventist was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 20-19 to Pacific Union College Prep. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Rio Lindo Adventist saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Achelynn Paul, who posted eight points and nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Taala Thompson, who had two points and ten steals.
Even though they lost, Rio Lindo Adventist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Rio Lindo Adventist better keep an eye on Allie Duncan. She was instrumental in Trinity Prep's win, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 13 rebounds. Duncan's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avigail McDonald, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
Trinity Prep pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.3 points per game. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rio Lindo Adventist has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Trinity Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Rio Lindo Adventist strolled past Trinity Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 41-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Lindo Adventist since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
