Foothill has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northgate recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Falcons will challenge the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Foothill will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Foothill and Dougherty Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. Considering the Falcons have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Foothill got a great performance from Ryan Cooney as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Cooney is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Grant Hoenninger was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. RJ Manicki also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Clovis hit Northgate with a seven-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Broncos took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.
Northgate also got a good showing from Sebastian Shum, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Shum has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Shane Malloy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three runs. Another player making a difference was Luke Dress, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Northgate's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Foothill, their record is now 7-4.
Everything went Foothill's way against Northgate when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Foothill made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
