The Chestnut Ridge Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 65-42 defeat at the hands of Bishop Carroll. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Chestnut Ridge has suffered against Bishop Carroll since December 13, 2018.
Chestnut Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Damjanovich, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Damjanovich has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Hillegass, who scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Chestnut Ridge bumped their record down to 7-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Bishop Carroll, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-8.
Chestnut Ridge will head out on the road to challenge Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chestnut Ridge in Pennsylvania (Forest Hills is ranked 41st, while Chestnut Ridge is ranked 216th). As for Bishop Carroll, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Richland at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th.
