Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Alhambra's 16th in Last 19 Outings

There's no place like home for Alhambra, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Polytechnic Panthers on Tuesday. For the Moors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

Aiden Kim looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Alhambra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Alhambra is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Polytechnic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coming up, Alhambra will square off against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Moors surely won't give up without a fight. Polytechnic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
