Buchholz is 8-2 against Forest since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Buchholz Bobcats face off against Forest Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Buchholz will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Buchholz had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Palmetto on Friday. Buchholz was the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Palmetto. Considering the Bobcats have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
JJ Gardner made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Gardner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Blake Brewer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Zac Brown, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Buchholz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Forest unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union County.
Samuel Baderschneider was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Forest is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Robert Kohler was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.
Buchholz's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Buchholz beat Forest 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Buchholz repeat their success, or does Forest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
