Rawlins County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the Dighton Hornets to the tune of 46-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Buffaloes just coasted through the last quarter.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Dominique Paz and Austin Chumley. Paz rushed for 132 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries while Chumley rushed for 107 yards and two scores on only 11 carries. Chumley didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Rawlins County proved: they limited Dighton to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. While one picked up at least five total tackles, Paz stood above the rest. He rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Rawlins County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.
