The Omaha Central Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Millard South by a score of 54-41. Given Omaha Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Millard South is ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Inia Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. The game was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Tcheuhchoua, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Omaha Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Millard South, they have fallen quite a ways from their 26-2 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Omaha Central will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Bellevue East at 5:15 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Hopefully Bellevue East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
