Desert Christian suffered their closest defeat since February 27, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Vasquez Mustangs by a score of 10-8. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Shane Idelman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Logan Mount was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Desert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-2. As for Vasquez, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Desert Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Baptist at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Vasquez, they will look to defend their home field on the 18th against Bishop Union at 3:15 p.m.
