The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders will challenge the Harlingen South Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
If Harlingen South heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North took over last week. The Raiders came out on top against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial by a score of 24-13 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Eagles are ranked 383rd).

Ethan Guerra was his usual excellent self, rushing for 167 yards and two scores, while also picking up 56 receiving yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 15th straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Another reason for the win was Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Josiah Solis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North got some further help from Rey Martinez: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harlingen South). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Donna North 63-0. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North better keep an eye on Austen Shroyer. He was instrumental in Harlingen South's win, throwing for 226 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, while also rushing for 83 yards and one score on only six carries. What's more, Shroyer racked up 151 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.
Harlingen South's run defense was locked in: Donna North could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. The Hawks didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 15.7.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Harlingen South, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 343.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Harlingen South struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 208.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North took their victory against Harlingen South in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-17 score. In that contest, the Raiders amassed a halftime lead of 42-3, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
