Softball Recap: Hicks Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Hicks came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Claiborne Christian Crusaders with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Katie-Grace Quinn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Hicks let Kaydence Hickman and Abby Addison run wild. Hickman got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Addison got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hicks hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in six consecutive matchups.

Hicks' victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Claiborne Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Hicks will take on Weston at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Claiborne Christian, they will face off against Ruston at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders are facing the Bearcats at the right time seeing as the Bearcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
