With a playoff game on the line, the Cathedral City Lions rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Seawolves out 3-2. The result kept Cathedral City happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 24th.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Leslie Aguilar Hernandez and
Kamila Bon, who scored all three of Cathedral City's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 38 so far this season.
Cathedral City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-5 record this season. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8-1.
Cathedral City is on the road again on Saturday and plays Maranatha at 5:00 p.m. on February 10th. Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
