McEachern is a perfect 6-0 against Pebblebrook since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The McEachern Indians will host the Pebblebrook Falcons at 5:55 p.m. McEachern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
McEachern is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hillgrove just ended the team's 14-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The loss put an end to the Indians' undefeated start to the season.
McEachern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leandro Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Tyce Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pebblebrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Osborne with a sharp 13-3 win on Wednesday. Considering the Falcons have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sinsaire Walker made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. Walker was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Pebblebrook: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Pebblebrook let Jhaki Stewart and Criston Thomas run wild. Stewart scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Thomas scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Pebblebrook's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when he doesn't). James (Tre) Morrow was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Pebblebrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Pebblebrook is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.3 runs. Having lost for the first time this season, McEachern fell to 14-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. McEachern has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pebblebrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
McEachern took their victory against Pebblebrook in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 10-0. Will McEachern repeat their success, or does Pebblebrook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
