Justus Smith and Carter Mcginnis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Smith pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Mcginnis pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Smith scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Mcginnis scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Mcginnis a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Mccadden, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Mccadden is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Beau Fleming also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Creekside Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland only posted an OBP of .425.
Meanwhile, The King's Academy came up short against King's Ridge Christian on Saturday, falling 10-4. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.
Aaron Lundt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell Seney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Creekside Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for The King's Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Creekside Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game.
