The Linden Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Orestimba 43-13. Linden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.
Orestimba's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaelin Stevens, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stevens has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Quevedo, who scored three points along with ten steals and seven rebounds.
Linden's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-22. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Orestimba, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linden will square off against Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Orestimba, they will head out on the road to square off against Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
