The Galloway Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 72-50 walloping at the hands of Mount Vernon. While losing is never fun, Galloway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while Mount Vernon is ranked 47th).
Galloway lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Levin, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Grant Patrick was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Galloway struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mount Vernon pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Kj Garris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Vernon, scoring 20 points. Garris is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Pace Bottoms, who scored 12 points.
Galloway's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Mount Vernon, their victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galloway will take on Atlanta International at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Vernon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Paideia at 7:30 p.m.
