Volleyball Recap: Lincoln-Way West Takes a Loss

Lincoln-Way West saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Metamora Redbirds by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Lincoln-Way West sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 21-25, 15-9.

Defeat or not, Lincoln-Way West got some senior leadership from Sophia Rozga and Claire Murphy. Rozga had 20 digs and one assist, while Murphy had 24 assists and five digs. Those 24 assists set a new season-high mark for Murphy.

Lincoln-Way West now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Metamora, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Lincoln-Way West has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Barrington on the 30th. As for Metamora, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Lincoln-Way East on the 30th.
