The Kennett Blue Demons lost against the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Kennett fell 46-39 to Bayard Rustin. While losing is never fun, Kennett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Bayard Rustin is ranked 92nd).
Bayard Rustin was led to victory by Riley Stackhouse and Sara Betchyk. Stackhouse scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Betchyk dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Betchyk hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Jenna Kraft was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Kennett has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Bayard Rustin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Kennett will head out on the road to challenge Henderson at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bayard Rustin, they will face off against Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
