The West Lafayette Red Devils will be playing at home against the Hanover Central Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Lafayette fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rensselaer Central 42-7 on the road. 42 seems to be a good number for West Lafayette as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Carson Kitchel had an outrageously good game as he threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Cooper Kitchel, who picked up 59 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hanover Central made easy work of Boone Grove on Friday and carried off a 41-20 win. The win was just business as usual for Hanover Central, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Caiden Verrett, who rushed for 304 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. Verrett is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
West Lafayette's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Hanover Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as West Lafayette and Hanover Central haven't had much trouble getting there this season. West Lafayette commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Hanover Central struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
