The Fountain Valley Barons lost against the Cypress Centurions back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fountain Valley fell 55-42 to Cypress. Fountain Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sara Shigekawa was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points along with three steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Isabella Caceres, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Fountain Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Cypress, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fountain Valley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Anaheim at 7:15 p.m. on December 21st. Anaheim will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. As for Cypress, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorba Linda at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorba Linda is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
