Baseball Recap: Whitney Takes a Loss

Whitney lost against Rocklin back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Whitney fell 5-1 to Rocklin.

Zach Laduzinski was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Whitney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Farris, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Kole McClendon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Rocklin, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

While Whitney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
