Basketball Recap: Whitney Piles Up the Points Against Mayfair

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitney). They blew past the Mayfair Monsoons, posting a 61-27 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

Whitney was led to victory by Tina Namiranian and Alyssa So. Namiranian went 6-for-9 to rack up 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while So shot 47% from the field on her way to 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which So has scored at least a third of the Wildcats' points. Ella Nelson was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 12 boards and four steals.

Whitney smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Whitney and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Mayfair, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
