The Fresno Christian Eagles have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Minarets by a score of 49-37 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fresno Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Sarah Guglielmana, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Marisol Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Minarets' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Garabedian, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Videgain, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Fresno Christian's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17. As for Minarets, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fresno Christian will take on the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Minarets, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
