Even though the Wildwood Wildcats scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Halifax Academy Knights still came out on top. Halifax Academy slipped by Wildwood 56-55.
Despite the defeat, Wildwood saw an underclassman step up: Zayden Garcia scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Louis Brown, who scored 19 points.
Halifax Academy's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.4 points. As for Wildwood, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Halifax Academy will head out on the road to face off against Legacy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Halifax Academy likes a good challenge. As for Wildwood, they will be playing at home against Leesburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leesburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wildwood in Florida (Leesburg is ranked 76th, while Wildwood is ranked 602nd).
