It was a good run, but the Foresthill Wildfires unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-33 loss at the hands of Woodland Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Foresthill has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Several Wildfires players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addy Aldrich, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals. Aldrich has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Marquez, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for Teagan Hayes, who scored 21 points along with eight steals and seven assists for Woodland Christian. Hayes has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Siena Sorbello, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks.
Foresthill's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Woodland Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foresthill will take on Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Woodland Christian, they will be playing at home against Futures at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Futures has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
