Chichester's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Avon Grove 46-14.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact Upper Merion Area proved on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 victory over Collegium Charter. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Upper Merion Area.
Upper Merion Area got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Levayda Fuqua out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fuqua has scored at least 25% of Upper Merion Area's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Smith, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds.
Chichester's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Upper Merion Area, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Chichester was dealt a bruising 52-17 defeat at the hands of Upper Merion Area when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Chichester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
