The Northwest Area Rangers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season. They ended the year with a bang, routing Sayre 52-29. Winning may never get old, but Northwest Area sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karsyn Miner, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Miner has scored at least 25% of Northwest Area's points. Jordin Bowman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Sayre struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwest Area racked up 11 assists.
Northwest Area's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Sayre, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Area will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Benton at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Sayre, they will face off against North Penn-Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Penn-Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
