Edgewood has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bassett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Olympians at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edgewood has three straight victories, Bassett has 18 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Edgewood made easy work of La Puente and carried off a 14-1 win. Considering the Lions have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Raymond Tafolla made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Noah Ramirez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Edgewood: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Omar Chavez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one triple.
Edgewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Puente only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, Bassett lost 15-1 to Pomona on Thursday.
Bassett saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Issac Vargas, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Those hits were Vargas' first of the season.
Bassett's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
Everything went Edgewood's way against Bassett in their previous meeting back in March, as Edgewood made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Olympians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
