After three games on the road, Doniphan-Trumbull is heading back home. They will take on the Holdrege Dusters at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Doniphan-Trumbull focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
Doniphan-Trumbull scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 68-20 victory over Gibbon. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Doniphan-Trumbull has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Doniphan-Trumbull to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Shimmin, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Charlee Richter, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Holdrege was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 49-43 to the Patriots. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Holdrege in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost seven in a row.
Doniphan-Trumbull's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Holdrege, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.
Doniphan-Trumbull beat the Dusters 35-28 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Doniphan-Trumbull repeat their success, or do the Dusters have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
