The Torrington Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Naugatuck Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Torrington didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Waterbury Career Academy, but they still walked away with a 18-14 victory.
Meanwhile, Naugatuck put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over Woodland Regional. Fans of Naugatuck have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Jett Hall was his usual excellent self, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 38 yards and a touchdown. Hall was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Jaylin Martinez and his 138 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Naugatuck's win.
Torrington's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Naugatuck, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0.
Torrington was dealt a bruising 47-0 defeat at the hands of Naugatuck in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Torrington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
