Baseball Recap: Carlisle Find Success

Carlisle hadn't done well against Red Land recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Thundering Herd came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 5-0. For the Thundering Herd, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Bradyn Sober made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carlisle is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise. Sober was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Owen Vioral was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Will Donnelly was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Carlisle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Carlisle's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Red Land, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle will face off against Lower Dauphin at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Red Land, they will challenge Northeastern at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.8, the Bobcats 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
