The Lynbrook Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lynbrook posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-23 win over Palo Alto on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-9.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos entered their tilt with Palo Alto with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Los Gatos breezed by Palo Alto at home to the tune of 61-10. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Palo Alto is ranked 1110th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lynbrook has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Los Gatos, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Lynbrook opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-41 defeat to Los Gatos. Can Lynbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
