Rockwall is 0-5 against Longview since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Lobos at 7:30 p.m. Rockwall will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Rockwall is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Royse City with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 48-31. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brent Rickert was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 257 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 57 yards and one score on only six carries. What's more, he racked up 120.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was AJ Hatcher, who gained 97 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Longview didn't have quite enough to beat Ruston last Friday and fell 38-35. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 35th in Texas, while the Bearcats are ranked second in Louisiana).
Rockwall will need to focus on slowing down JACAIDEN DAVIS, one of several Longview players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 41 yards and one TD, and also picked up 41 receiving yards. JOHNNY HAMILTON was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and one score.
Rockwall now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Longview, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Rockwall has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 175.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Longview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Rockwall was dealt a bruising 63-34 defeat at the hands of Longview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Kelvin Washington (who rushed for 381 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
