Larkin had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-6 to make it four. They came up short against the Harvest-Westminster Warriors, falling 11-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 9-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Aden Mora was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Mora wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Ventura, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Harvest-Westminster, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
Like Larkin, Harvest-Westminster also got a great game from a two-way player: Tommy Neubert. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave Neubert a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Elias Vaagen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sam Dries, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Larkin will venture away from home to challenge South Elgin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Royals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Harvest-Westminster, they will head out on the road to square off against Schaumburg Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
